SERVER RULES
Your very first step in joining the CAD Community Server is to please read all Server Rules before beginning going into the character creation process:
I. This is an 18+ server intended for mature audiences. World of Darkness is a game of gothic horror, and well, darker and more corrupt than our own.
II. Hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated, even in character. This includes, but is not limited to; homophobia, racism, misogyny, antisemitism, etc.
III. Let's keep politics and religion out of the server. Feel free to take those discussions into private messages, but in our experience, those two topics can be incredibly divisive. We're all here to have fun, so let's not ruin it.
IV. Rape, sexual assault/torture, or anything having to do with children is strictly forbidden. You may include sexual assault as part of your characters background, but it may not occur once you begin play.
V. Be respectful! Like mentioned above, we're all here to have fun! Let's do everything we can, as both players and staff, to create a fun, interactive, and rewarding environment. This is not a table-top game, where we sit close together and interact with one another face-to-face.
A Play-by-Post server gives us a certain amount of anonymity as we can hide behind our keyboards, but let's remember that words and actions have meaning, no matter how they're delivered. Be kind.
VI. Character death can happen on this server but needs to be closely monitored by a Storyteller. If your character is at risk of Final Death, please pause the scene and call for a Storyteller.
VII. Metagaming will not be tolerated. All instances of metagaming shall be reported to a Administrator or Storyteller immediately.
VIII. Do not argue with the Staff. If a conflict arises, we will take many things into consideration, including rules as written in the book, special circumstances etc. Once we have made a decision, we ask that you accept it and move on.
IX. NSFW or ERP should be conducted in private messages. Please keep it out of the public domain.
X. Don't be a creep. Don't set out to make other people uncomfortable. Don't be domineering. Don't be condescending.
XI. Real life comes first. If something occurs where you have to step away, we all understand. Real life always comes first. As a courtesy, however, especially if you're in active role play with someone, let us know.
If you're in active role play, just stick a post that says ((afk)) in the channel. In all cases, it would be helpful if you change your online status. To do this, click on your avatar, and it will give you a menu. Just don't forget to change it back when you return. Again, not a requirement, just a courtesy.
XII. You will be marked inactive and excluded from collecting XP after two weeks of not posting on the server. (Yes, we can track that.)
a. If you are sitting on a restricted clan/bloodline slot you will have an additional two weeks to get in contact with us as to why you are inactive or to make yourself marked active again or your character will be removed from the game to free up those slots.
XIII. Staff is happy to speak with you about anything game related. However, that being said, please keep it in your player channel. DMing a staffer, without asking permission first, is akin to speaking to them off the clock and off the server.
With it happening off the server, they are not subject to the code of conduct they agreed to be part of Staff. As it has not taken place on the server. Even quoting a DM chat in pictures can be taken out of context and/or altered using any number of free programs. As such, to prevent 'he said-she said' please address concerns in your player channel and please ask Staff for consent before you DM so that they can give you consent.
