As the capitol city of Egypt, Cairo holds over seven million people. As many as eight millin more live in the suburs and surrounding areas that make up greater Cairo, such as the Nile Islands, Gezia, Heliopolis, and the Cairo West Bank. The city is divided into Central Cairo, Islamic Cairo and Old Cairo. All of that divided sections hold places of interest to the Kindred society.

The city is 'ruled' by the Lancea Sactum, under the guidance of Prince Marcus Alexander, a Kindred who survived the Time of Judgement and who has experience of power within the city for years, as a mortal. Alexander has ran Cairo as a 'free city', but the sudden appearance of the Carthians concerns him greatly, even more than his previous struggle with the Ordo Dracul. Though the Circle of Crone, Invictus and the Unalinged keep a low profile, learning what they can about the different factors within the city and working to use the weakness of each faction to their own advantage.
